Student Development

Through our events, partnerships and diverse members who range from Designers and Educators to Students and Marketers, we aim to educate, inspire and provide equitable opportunities to students of all ages and backgrounds.

Design Camp

Design Camp is committed to spreading awareness about the Interior Design profession for the next generation. Design Camp focuses on guiding and educating K-12 students who come from underrepresented backgrounds that show interests in the arts and design. Creative workshops, portfolio review and information sessions about interior design are held throughout the year.

Hazel Siegel Scholarship

Following Hazel Siegel’s passing in 2020, IIDA NY developed this program, which serves to honor her legacy. Siegel, an acclaimed textile designer and chapter member, held various leadership positions and received numerous honors over 40 years of dedicated service to the chapter. She also served as a professor of textiles at Pratt Institute for over a decade. For her commitment to the design industry, Siegel was named ICON in the industry by Interior Design Magazine’s 75th anniversary issue.
